PTSD

PTSD

PTSD is a custom blend prepared especially for several rescued dogs and cats coming from highly abusive and violent situations. Animals experience and hold trauma in their memories and neural pathways similar to humans. They lack the option of human outlets and internalize their trauma often resulting in physical behaviors which are not within their control. Much as a war Veteran or attack victim can experience flashbacks from stimuli or situations in everyday life, the past events trigger the physical and emotional pain of the trauma. This blend is effective with both humans and animals. PTSD is comprised of 100% organic essential oils in a grapeseed oil base.

Whether diffused or applied directly, PTSD helps release hurtful memories and move beyond emotional barriers by releasing negative emotions and energy blocks.

  • Sandalwood stimulates the limbic system of the brain and pineal gland which can help to reverse deep negative programming and release traumatic memories.
  • Geranium helps release negative memories and nervous tension. The aroma balances emotions, lifts the spirit and fosters peace and hope.
  • Black Spruce enhances inner strength, and calms both mind and body by releasing emotional blocks and restoring balance.
  • Frankincense has uplifting citrus and woody notes, and is considered an excellent antidepressant. It is grounding and calming, lending itself to meditative use and deep introspection. Leading therapists have researched the ability of the aroma to slow the breath, actually deepening it so that more air transpires, and fewer breaths per minute are taken elevating the spirit and improving attitude.
  • Myrrh is a helpful aid to meditation, having one of the highest levels of sesquiterpenes available. Sesquiterpenes are a class of compounds that have a direct effect on the hypothalamus, pituitary, and amygdala, the seat of our emotions.
  • Lavender is an adaptogen, and therefore can assist the body when adapting to stress or imbalances. It is a great aid for relaxing and winding down before bedtime, yet has balancing properties that can also boost stamina and energy.
