Hogwarts House Series: Slytherin
Slytherin Values: Ambition, Cunning, Resourcefulness, Leadership
House Emblem: Serpent
Slytherin values self-preservation and self-awareness and had the Myers-Briggs Indicators been used, Slytherin would likely have attracted those with a desire for bold leadership and strong desire for achievement such as ESTJ/ENFJ/ESFP/ESTP. These achievement-oriented types are an easy match for Slytherin, which is known for its leaders (both bad and good). Slytherins are resourceful, clever, and self-aware; they know who they are and what they want and they have the work ethic to achieve their desired results. Each of the four Hogwarts Houses corresponds to one of the four classical elements, Slytherin being a WATER Sign representation. From the deep emerald green of their house colors to the location and visual appeal of their housing—The Water element is found referenced throughout. The Slytherin common room was a long, low underground room with rough stone walls located beneath the Black Lake. The SLYTHERIN oil blend harnesses the essence of members and alumni:
- Lime promotes sureness of self by cleansing the aura and releasing negativity in the mind; facilitating the opening of the solar plexus and heart chakras where much of our personal power is held.
- Black pepper energizes and clears energy blocks and is especially useful for the third chakra to promote healthy personal power, self-worth, courage, stamina, and self-control.
- Blue Tansy creates a feeling of grounding, anchoring, and empowerment.
- Cardamom increases Prana (life-force energy) and evokes feelings of steadiness even in the face of fear.
- Texas Cedarwood stimulates the limbic part of the brain which is the center of emotions and memory and the pineal gland which releases melatonin.
- Black Spruce enhances inner strength, and calms both mind and body. Its aroma releases emotional blocks and brings about a sense of balance, grounding, and steadiness.
