BLT (Be Like a Tree)

BLT is one of those daily essentials, like water to the body, this is “hydration” for the energetic system—comprised of 100% organic Black Spruce (Picea Mariana), Siberian Fir needle (Abes Sibirica ), Wild Cedarwood (Cedrus Atlantica & Cedrus Deodora ), Frankincense (Boswellia Carteri), Palo Santo (Bursera Graveolens ), and Wild Australian Sandalwood (Santalum Spicatum) in a grape seed oil base.

Sometimes the worst stress comes from the things that are all too terribly familiar. There are times that anxiety can make even daily tasks seem insurmountable, even though I’ve done them countless times before. I know it’s something I can do; it’s just that in that moment it’s implausible, nigh on impossible, I could do it again. So what can make simple tasks so hard? What thoughts or behaviors prevent you from feeling confident about tasks you’re familiar with but which create anxiety regardless? One incredibly common example for anxiety sufferers is picking up the phone to call a friend. Intellectually you’re aware you’ll probably have a great conversation-- But anxiety (caused by loss of grounding) magnifies every difficult emotion, negative thought or sign of hesitation. BLT can bring a very solid sense of GROUNDING and eases feelings of stress and anxiety caused by loss of grounding.

  • Frankincense has uplifting citrus and woody notes, and is considered an excellent antidepressant. It is grounding and calming, lending itself to meditative use and deep introspection. Leading therapists have discussed the ability of the aroma to slow the breath, actually deepening it so that more air transpires, and fewer breaths per minute are taken.
  • Siberian Fir is both uplifting AND grounding. Bringing the sense of the stillness in the forest, this psychologically establishes the imagery of grounding and deep roots that only being one with nature can provide. Fir needle is also a primary component in many holistic breathing treatments—clearing the lungs and bronchia.
  • Cedar is recognized for its calming, purifying, and grounding benefits. One of the most powerful essential oils for subtle energy work, Cedarwood is grounding, clears away negativity and brings in positive energy. It promotes clarity of mind and invokes the presence and teachings of the Divine and is used as a temple incense by Tibetan Buddhists.
  • Black Spruce enhances inner strength, and calms both mind and body.
  • Palo Santo is thought to be a great aid to clearing negative energy. Further, it is thought to uplift the spirits, attract positive energy, and provide energetic protection. The oil may aid in medatative practices and works in concert with the pineal gland (“third eye chakra”).
  • Sandalwood is relaxing, uplifting, and gently sedative, considered to have antidepressant effects. Sandalwood is high in sesquiterpenes, a class compound which has been studied in Europe for its stimulation of the pineal gland and the limbic region of the brain—the center of our emotions.
